Istekki Oy is an ICT and medical equipment service company owned by public entities – such as wellbeing services counties and cities – and plays a critical role in Finland’s social and healthcare sector. The company employs around 1,400 experts and operates in five locations. At its core are cybersecurity, security of supply, and broad-based digital development.
The collaboration with Kood/Sisu began in 2023, when the company grew rapidly due to the new wellbeing services counties.

Collaboration with Kood/Sisu has been smooth and easily accessible from the very beginning. Istekki participates in board work and has been able to influence, for example, the development of the service portal.
Although no direct recruitments have yet been made, the collaboration has strengthened the employer image and increased visibility among technology students.

In Finland, especially in the fields of cybersecurity and social and healthcare ICT, there is a critical shortage of professionals, with fierce competition for talent and a constantly growing need. Kood/Sisu addresses this challenge by providing practical training for new, motivated ICT developers – including career changers – who bring fresh expertise and valuable industry knowledge to the field.

Kood/Sisu carried out the initial screening of applicants, leaving Ponsse with only the final interviews and the decision on who would start. Ponsse sees the collaboration as a concrete answer to the software industry’s labor shortage – an opportunity to find professionals interested in hands-on development work with cutting-edge technology.

Istekki sees Kood/Sisu primarily as a partner with whom expertise can be built in the long term.
Future plans include, among other things:
- Participation in the development of course content
- Hackathons and internships as part of innovation projects
